Correctional Systems Inc. operated and developed prisons, jails, and community corrections facilities. The company operated primarily in 1) Texas, with three federal and two state community corrections contracts, 2) California, with nine city and county jails, 3) New Mexico, with two county jails, and 4) Kansas, with one federal community corrections contract. The company also provided home arrest and offender-funded treatment, primarily in California, through its Sentencing Concepts (SCI) division. Correctional Systems was acquired in 2005 by Cornell Cos. (Nyse: CRN), a leader in the privatized corrections business and now part of GEO Group Inc.
